How about the second coming???
Now, before I say this, let me just say, that I love Brees. He's our QB for many years to come, and I have no doubts about the guy.
With that said, there has been speculation, that if the Giants don't have a "stellar" year out of Eli, that they might look to unload him, after the season. Now, whattya think? Eli could certainly learn alot, playing behind Brees, and not to mention, I think alot of the pressure would be off of him to perform, because we all know, that New York is brutal on star athletes, (A-Rod just to name one), so he would definatley loosen up alot. Now, I know the possibility of this actually happening are zero to none, BUT, it is definately an interesting discussion to have, don't you think? |

Do you really think it is time to send Eli to the bench as a backup?
NYG has not done the best job of building a team around him and I do not think he is ready for a backup. Not that it would not hurt. He was thrown to the wolves in NY. I bet he wish he was with the Chargers right now. Philip sat and learned from Drew and then stepped in played behind a good OL. Man has that blown up in his face. |

I think we're getting very bored around here. This is practically the same as the Romo thread.

I think of all the places outside of NYC that Eli could go, NOLA would be one with the most pressure. His Dad's an absolute icon for the Saints, he's from New Orleans and played in the SEC. He needs to go somewhere like Minnesota where he can get out of the spotlite.

Oh wow. While I agree the threads are similar, comparing Eli, to Romo, is like comparing a Hurricane (the drink), to tap water. I'll take the Manning creed, over a flash in the pan any day. Romo's days are numbered.
