Wilkerson rumor
 

There are some allegations floating around on other forums, that approx. 10 people were fired from the saints organization and a certain reporter from wwl was banned from Saints Training camp. I know that this board has insiders and I was wondering if any of this is true or just hogwash. A few of my friends have texted me wanting to know if I heard anything about this but I haven't. I am currently watching the news but they haven't mentioned it.

It wouldn't surprise me. Kenny has been kissin & telling over there for several weeks now. Someone may have gotten a bit upset at all the story telling about current players and coaches and decided to stop the leaks.

well that would be really funny. I am talking rolling on the floor and wetting my pants funny.

Let's see if Boba has anything on this... I remember him saying his source was on vacation. Maybe that person is back and could fill us in.

Kenny viewed the thread for a while, and offered no comment. He was aware that the brass was paranoid about Saints info, but I didn't see him divulging any state secrets. I'll bet some of his haters alerted the Saints, too. That's just how they roll. I was ashamed by how he was treated by a few.

Apparently there have been multiple confirmations from people with "inside sources" over there.

THE SAINTS CLEANED HOUSE YESTERDAY! THEY FIRED OVER 10 EMPLOYEES AND ALSO ONE OF THE EQUIPMENT PERSONNEL NOT SURE IF IT WAS THE MANAGER OR WHO IT WAS.

MY INSIDER HAD INFORMED ME THAT PHONE RECORDS WERE CHECKED AND THE EQUIPMENT PERSON WAS MAKING CALLS TO KENNY AND LEAKING INSIDE INFORMATION.

If Kenny's reporting.....to me he's just doing his job. Unless Payton expressly asked reporters not to divulge information. I still haven't seen confirmation on this.

I think what happened was that a member of the training/equipment staff was telling Kenny everything he heard in meetings and whatnot. Thats not exactly reporting on Kenny's part and i certainly understand why the Saints terminated the guy leaking the info. I dont know anything about phone records but if he was indeed calling Kenny from a team issued phone, then that is just flat out silly.

Why would Kenny Wilkerson put the other guy in the middle of this? He had to know that there was something wrong with what they were doing. Now someone is out of a job.

Has anyone been able to verify this occuring? If this turns out true the fact someone is out of a job is sad. Can't blame the Saints for is happening though. I remember reading about his source "being right under their nose and they don't even know it" and thought that would come back to haunt someone. Maybe it did.

The Saints, and Wilkerson are denying this, at this time

The original thread from SR.com was deleted by the OP. With that said, the OP is usually a reliable poster and has some inside connections. He is actually the cousin of Talman Gardner. KW was also lurking on the thread throughout the day and if there was nothing to the rumor, I would think that he would have said something denying the original post...

Who really cares? All this would mean is WWL would have to upgrade the position. I do not hate Kenny but I would not miss him. He is no Buddy D.

As for him getting some one fired that was a bonehead move. Drugged or not. He should feel pretty low about himself right now. If that is true I have little or no respect for him right now. That is a Holy Grail of reporting. Never indanger a rat (source).

Please, with all the people in the world you think I would lie about being TG's cousin, be for real man. Is it hard to believe he has relatives that's die hard Saints fans. We are from New Orleans duhhhhhhhh

Well, if this is true, then the supplier of info wasn't doing it for free. He knew the risks. The press has moles on police forces, government, and business.

I'm not saying it isn't true but I would think that we would have heard something about it from somewhere other than another board. It's awfully quiet for something like that to have happened. When 10 people get the axe someone will talk about it. That's just human nature. I think it's either rumor or not as big of a deal as one would think.

I dont think 10 people got fired...i know one person did. that is a fact. as for kenny being banned from training camp, that i do not know. but someone certainly did get fired.

We're not to fond of rumors around here. if you don't have a link to a story we'd prefer you not post it unless you say it's a rumor. At least that way we know what's bs and what's not.

This will be the last time I mention the other site. All I will say is that I don't miss it. The founder and his lackey got what they wanted - enough traffic to get press passes. The founder isnt' a bad guy but his mods ruined that board. It has been a soap opera site for awhile. I am glad to be here and looking foward to good Saints football talk.
