1) Sammy Knight -
Since he was with this team in the beginning, I preached his name. I may have been the first Saint fan to ever buy his jersey. The guy was the best heads-up player I've ever seen. And, man, could he hit. A few years ago, when we played the Steelers in the dome, I was wearing my Knight jersey. A Steelers fan asked "Who's Knight?" I answered, "Sammy Knight, Strong Safety. He's going to pick off your QB in a few." Sammy had 2-interceptions that day. 2) Drew Brees I'm a huge Chargers fan, so this is a given for me. Plus, he has restored the position from the dreadful AB years. He's also shown a lot of devotion to the city. 3) Rickey Jackson I was born into being a Rickey Jackson fan. My favorite position is MLB. My Great-Grandpawpaw gave me a Rickey Jackson action figure for Christmas one year when he found out I loved the Saints. (I think I was, like, 4.) 4) Jim Mora For telling it like it is and finally building a winning team. 5) Deuce For being the honorable player that he is. Oh, yeah, and he's good. 6) Bobby Hebert, Sam Mills, Morten Anderson, and Quinn Early My first few years, I watched these guys. They're the first players I began to recognize. I never got to see Archie play, but I respect him atleast. Oh, and hopefully Reggie will join that list soon. |

...hard question to answer... too many players have come and gone, some are here now who are growing on me...
... but, there was a time when I went to the Dome to watch the Dome Patrol play, not the Saints.. so I'd say, the Dome Patrol are my favorite players all time. |

Archie (the guy is a Legend in Louisiana)
Lets not forget about The Cajun Cannon Bobby Hebert (a real down to earth guy and definitely a true Louisiana boy) Dalton Hilliard (not just for the way he played but he was a really cool guy and I had the chance to have several conversations with him because I went to Destrehan High School and him and several of the Players use to come to the gym to work out thanks to the facts that most of them lived there and we had coach Sidwell’s son playing with us on the Destrehan High’s Fighting Wild Cats “GO D”) DUCE (that should speak for it’s self) and my 2 new favs… Drew Breese and Reggie Bush (that should speak for it’s self also) |
