I don't think supplemental pay counts towards a team’s salary cap
I think it goes down on paper more like a bonus But heck I personally don't care how they did it I'm all for it ..::EDIT::.. But don’t quote me on that, as I have been wrong about things like that in the past |

I did hear that he got some kind of performance-based pay from the NFL last year, but I don't think he should immediately be talking about getting a new contract. I'm a big believer in honoring the contract that you signed. Now if it gets to be the season before his contract runs out, and he's still performing at the kind of level he did last season yet getting paid like a 7th rounder, then yes, I think the Saints should listen. But until then, I think he needs to honor what he signed. And it's not just him (even though I doubt that Colston is even the kind of guy to pull that kind of crap), I feel the same way with every player, i.e. Will Smith.
