Report: Young
Although he hasn't taken a snap yet because of a broken foot, defensive tackle Brian Young has been one of the most impressive players at Saints camp this week.
He has been pedaling the stationary bike into submission and throwing medicine balls around like an Olympic shot-putter. He is noticeably more intense about his rehab work than the rest of the guys nursing various injuries, and he is clearly determined to get back on the field ahead of schedule. The original diagnosis was that Young would miss four to six weeks when he broke his foot in early July. Don't be surprised if he's back even sooner. "He's a real focused guy. He's going to do everything and more," Saints Coach Sean Payton said. "I think he's comfortable with that kind of discipline and detail, whether it's rehab or just a workout." In other words, he's the kind of guy coaches love to have on their team. Veteran backup Antwan Lake has filled in nicely for Young in the meantime, but expect to see Young back in the starting lineup by opening night. |

Re: Report: Young
Maybe he realizes his starting job could be on the line?
