The good - The only thing I learned from the HOF game is that Michael Irvin can go f**k off. You know, I feel so f**kin sorry for him, enjoying all those parties, women and coke for decades. What a horrible f**kin life. Well, now that he's cleaned up his act and thinks that he's some kind of a f**kin family values role model, that must mean it's time for me to move to Dallas, get a job playing football, have all the friends I could ever want and drop acid and sniff coke and take a stripper home every goddamn night. That way I can witness first-hand for myself how miserable his life really was. Better to do that than to snort his bullsh*t in Canton, Ohio, 'cause all I see there is a statue of his stupid Cowboy ass.

It's only the first pre season game, but one would hope that the corners could at least run with the opposing teams receivers, or that the safeties would be in position if the corners were burned. We will have to wait and see how they improve, and hope for a ferocious pass rush to help these guys out.

As for the secondary...well, you just can't polish a turd. The team needs some secondary players to really step it up. I'm looking to MM and KK to pull these (very young) guys together. |

I think it may be time for the Saints to consider cover 2 defense. It's getting very tiresome watching the corners get burn every game.

Re: HOF Game...the good...the bad...the ugly
As opposed to the torching we're receiving now??? I have to say I've thought in the past that we need to rethink our defensive philosophy. It seems we're either not able to coach these players to play the man D or we're not getting talented enough players. I'm leaning towards the coaching on D. We've brought in people left and right for DB's and they just don't seem to get it. So why not adjust instead of forcing something that obviously isn't working? Pressure all you want to up front, but if the QB can just hurl the ball and the receivers are 10 yards behind our d-backs it really doesn't mean a whole lot. And on top of that, when you run our d-backs downfield in man it opens up the dink and dunk passes to the outside zones like crazy. As evidenced last night continuously. Just my 2 cents. Otherwise I say the rest of the game was just preseason crap, no one takes stock in the preseason games. It's really just a showcase for the 2nd and 3rd string players to show what they have and maybe make another team.
