Alexander or McAllister?
I'll be going to the Saints/Seahawks game with a pal who's a Seahawks fan. Last night we argued about who was the better running back between Deuce McAllister and Shawn Alexander over a few shots of vodka.
I argued that with Hutchinson and Jones on the line for the Seahawks, Deuce would have had better numbers than Alexander. He said that Deuce was just a power back and that Shawn is faster. I believe that Deuce is faster than Shawn. It may be tough but I ask everybody to put away the homer in you and debate who you'd rather have. Deuce McAllister or Shawn Alexander? |

Re: Alexander or McAllister?
While he has lost a step due to his increased size, but he ran a 4.38 at his Pro Day before he got drafted. He was listed at 6-1, 217 then. Now he's at 232 on the team's official website, but I imagine it's a bit more than that. That being said, I honestly think that Deuce, given that type of offensive line, would be better than Alexander. I am probably just being a homer, but having seen Deuce when he gets going, I would think that he's a better back than Alexander. Shaun is probably more of a bruiser, who also has good speed. But Deuce has that same type of bruiser-mentality, but better speed.

Re: Alexander or McAllister?
I love Deuce, but Alexander is in a different class.
I saw him in our home opener a couple of years ago. Scary. |
