This is another one where i'm afraid we can wish in one hand and______ in the other ans see which one fills up first. As bad as we think we may want and need him......alas we're not the ones that pull the trigger.:(

Personally, i am kind of on the fence with bringing him in...but i dont think that there is much of a chance the coaches or FO would do it. I do kind of think that he has been one of the players in the league that gets more credit than he is due, and having him come in to compete with the guys we already have may disrupt whatever chemistry they have. I dont know...I have no feelings on this one way or the other. I will let you guys know something if i hear anything.

As xan said, there was a reason he was cut. He is not the same player, period.
Didn't the Eagles go after Briggs in the off season? They must have known then

Negatives:

1. He was released why? There's a reason.

2. He'd be decades behind in learning the playbook, and gaining chemistry.

3. Just look what Deuce and Reggie did to them last year.

4. He's at that NFL age.

5. He may not like the idea of being a backup after being a starter for so long.

Positives:

1. He's got a WHOLE lot more experience than some of our other backups.

2. As they've said, he's probably better at the run than Simoneau(although I believe Simmons will be better, give him time.)

3. He's a good presence.


My assessment is don't bring him in. If he's willing to come in and work out for a while, because he likes this teams chances at a Super Bowl, great. If he's asking for too much money, nah. We've got SOME youth there, and they're not asking anything but to be signed to the team.
