Peter Kings top 500
I know that King and the rest of these writers come up with b.s. lists of
"the best" such and such, but some of his rankings and comments got me wondering. Here they are. 8. Drew Brees QB, Saints Lifted a teamand a regionlast year 19. Reggie Bush RB-KR, Saints And now he knows the offense ... scary 64. Charles Grant DE, Saints Deservedly got Dwight Freeney money 109. Will Smith DE, Saints Whom do you double -- Smith or Grant 134. Jammal Brown T, Saints MVP of a rebuilt offensive line 155. Marques Colston WR, Saints Most pleasant surprise of 2006 draft 211. Jahri Evans G, Saints From that football factory, Bloomsburg 250. Scott Fujita LB, Saints Come on now: hurt at a water park 289. Deuce McAllister RB, Saints Mr. Unselfish to take on lesser role 371. Hollis Thomas DT, Saints 419. Jason David, CB, Saints 428. Mike McKenzie CB, Saints 468. Roman Harper SS, Saints 494. Josh Bullocks FS, Saints Ok, I know Drew, and Reggie, in the top 25 on anyones list, they have to be. But whats up with Deuce? 289? and what lesser role is P.K. talking about? If he is taking on a lesser role I am worried. Anyone heard anything about that? And only 2 O.L. in the top 500? This guy is smoking crack! Also I think Smith and Grant should switch spots....Smith is more explosive. I realize these idiots have nothing better to do than jaw, and come up with crap, but really people, when is our team gonna get some props! I razzed his article by the way, may be banned from S.I.'s website. Damn, there goes my swimsuit issue! Re: Peter Kings top 500
Our starting DB's are all in the 400's. That's not saying much. The most forgotten group is the OL. Only two in the top 500, and no TE.

Re: Peter Kings top 500

Re: Peter Kings top 500
I'm a King defender, so I'll go ahead and say that a list like this is next to impossible to make while pleasing everyone.
Kings proves that by putting the Team's entire secondary on the list. Oh and 3/4 of the D-line, plus a linebacker. That's 8 of 11 starters (73%). Only 29% of the league made the list. 6 offensive players from the most potent offense in the league last year made the list, but that's only 5 starters or 45% (#19 is still a backup to #289). |

Re: Peter Kings top 500
1) Drew Brees #8 on the list, arguably the third best QB in the league which happens to be the most important position on a team, hmmmm interesting.
2) Charles Grant #64 and Will Smith #109, that's kind of low for a DE tandem that is considered the best in the league by a lot of so called experts. Also, refresh my memory, who made the Pro Bowl, #64 Grant or #109 Smith, hmmmm interesting. 3) #289 for Deuce McCallister, are you kidding me? #289? That's a tad bit disrespectful, but we all know THE DEUCE don't give a damn about the P.Kings of the world, and neither do we.#289, hmmmm, interesting. 4) LT Jammal Brown, 2007 Pro Bowler #134. Now that's comical, we had the #1 offense in the league thanx mainly to the J - 5 Crew and the best he can give Brown is #134. that made me think. How many OTs he ranked ahead of our PB OT: #10 Walter Jones, Seattle(A) #39 Jason Peters, Buffalo(A) #48 Marcus McNeill, San Diego(A) #57 Willie Anderson, Cincinnati(A) #66 Orlando Pace, St. Louis(N) #92 Chad Clifton, Green Bay(N) #114 Jonathan Ogden, Baltimore(A) #122 Chris Samuels, Washington(N) #132 Jordan Gross, Carolina(N) I guess being the best 2 or 3 at his position really doesn't matter to King, hmmmm, interesting. 5)SS Roman Harper #468, who missed 9 1/2 games last year is ranked 26 spots higher than FS Josh Bullocks #494, who happened to play the entire season. Also, I wonder where did he rank CB Jason David #419 last year when he played for the Superbowl Champion Colts, hmmmm, interesting. "I kind of get the impression that Mr. King was running a lil behind his dead line when he put this list out. I think he had to throw some names and numbers together to get his article out in time. Because, the way this list is done, he could not have paid attention to it at all." |
