Re: Byron Leftwich - Interested?
It wouldn't be a bad pick up at all. He's a good QB done pretty well in Jacks. The only knock on him is durability. Correct me if I am wrong but we would be signing him as a back up and not a starting, if we were replacing Brees then no.

Re: Byron Leftwich - Interested?
I agree with u Euphoria, he would be a good pickup, but I think he's looking for a team he could be a starter.

Re: Byron Leftwich - Interested?
How is he better than Martin? Because he has a stronger arm? His windup takes forever, he doesn't have experience in a timing offense (Martin does) and he doesn't check down quickly enough to run a read and react offense (Martin does). Why the hell do people think Leftwich is any good? What has he ever done?

The larger questions are his mobility (which is why Garrard is getting the nod for now) and health. Keeping him out of ATL might be a worthy endeavor, but its doubtful with that system there that he'll even compete with Harrington (who I have a feeling will surprise alot of people this year). Bottom line will most likely be his bottom line: his price tag would likely be too steep for our team's budget. |
