At least compete
The most appalling feature of this season's start is that the team hasn't been in any of the games. There's been no aggressiveness, no flar, no passion no concentration. At least the other 0-2 teams have shown up to the stadium and made an effort to win, and in most cases had a chance to win. The only team worse than the Saints so far are the Chiefs, and that's debatable given the evidence.
There needs to be an attention grabbing action by the coaching staff, because, clearly, neither pride nor professionalism are motivators. |

Re: At least compete
The front office, it appears so far, missed badly in the draft and free agency. Meachem, Alleman and Bushrod don't even dress. Pittman was cut. Simmons can't beat out the worst starting MLB in the NFL. Kevin K. can't beat out the worst starting FS in the NFL. David looks like Toast Part Two. Mare looks like the inconsistent kicker he has always been. Shanle got a new deal and reminds me of Hodge without the speed. H. Thomas got a new deal and looks like he ate 3/4's of it. Horn did mean something to the passing game. Reggie "worked out on his own" with a pornstar and made commercials this offseason. All in all, losing the first two games by 72-24 seems about right.

Re: At least compete
That was a sad display of.....
Of... Well… I thought it was suppose to be football they were playing but I'm not sure now?????? I’m personally starting to think I made a bad call… By saying that the saints were going to put up big numbers this year, maybe it was a mistake to think that they are a grate team. One of the biggest problems I have seen is that the play calling has become too predictable especially on the defensive side of the ball. The defensive coach is lucky I don’t own that team because he would already be on his way out the door. It’s sad when you are sitting at a bar watching the game and a guy sitting at the bar that knows absolutely nothing about football is calling what the saints are going to do and I’ll be dammed if they didn’t do just what he said they would do. They need to do something soon because they are loosing respect fast. |

Re: At least compete
You ever notice that the great dreams leave you hang'in...and the bad ones never end quick enough? This is a bad one - and needs to be over like yesterday. Maybe getting doused by the Colts was live-with-able, from a certain perspective, but I hope the guys have enough pride to motivate themselves after TB set them on fire. I hope somebody is ready to fight. I know I'm ready to kick some a$$.
