Looking forward to watching him play. Sounds like he has a chance to play on passing downs.

Saints Team Report July 25, 2003 Print it CHECK OUT CIE: Keep an eye on rookie LB Cie Grant. Coaches believe he has a chance to compete for playing time. Grant, who played safety, cornerback and outside linebacker in college, is a tremendous athlete. He\'ll start off at middle linebacker, where coaches think his athletic ability and instincts make him a natural. Through an intense workout regimen, Grant has increased his weight to 240 pounds, so he\'ll be well-prepared to handle the physical aspects of the position. Some coaches have compared his quickness and anticipation to Ravens MLB Ray Lewis. … He can flat out fly. Tremendous athlete, good strength, balance, flexibility physical ability. Excellent timing. Makes big plays. Obviously you saw that in the national championship game. One of the best coverage linebackers in the draft. Really flies. Lots of upside. Needs reps. High upside. The biggest thing is him shedding his blocks and using his hands better. Will allow the Saints to do a lot of different things.\" [Edited on 26/7/2003 by BillyCarpenter1] |
