Deuce's new runnign style
Did anyone notice Deuce made a B-line for the ground before taking any contact in the Tampa game? I first noticed his newfound propensity for avoiding contact in the 3rd quarter of the Indy game. I miss him fighting for those extra 2 yards.

Re: Deuce's new runnign style
I did not especially notice Deuce doing that, but it's a new trend for RB's is to not fight for an extra yard or so, when defenders are on them. The reason this is being taught is mainly to avoid turnovers. In a lot of cases the RB will turn the ball over while fighting for an extra yard. Obviously another reason is to try to prevent some injuries. Even with that said, I am finding that Deuce and Reggie are still fighting for extra yards. Their stats may not look pretty but they both appear to be running with a lot of heart. I will take a further look at your observation and watch them closer in the Titans game. You may be on to something, even though I did not see it. Maybe it was the all around horror of the first two games that caused me to miss it. LOL.

Re: Deuce's new runnign style
I didn't notice, mostly because we didn't see much of him during the game...
Deuce is still the player he was last year, we're just getting blown out to early to stay with the running game.. Deuce will come around sooner than later.. I was surprised to see Deuce go down hard in a head on collision with a LB, Deuce went down hard, last season he would have rolled over that LB on that play. |
