ESPN > John Clayton's 1st and 10
"4. Tennessee Titans at New Orleans Saints: The Saints have looked awful in two road losses. Restricted free-agent acquisition Jason David has been beaten for four touchdowns at cornerback. Devery Henderson has regressed as starting receiver on the other side of Marques Colston. Defenses have bottled up Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister, and Drew Brees' numbers have dropped dramatically.
Perhaps the scariest number is the 137.1 quarterback rating against the Saints' defense. Another scary number: Opponents are averaging 11.54 yards a pass attempt against the Saints. Tennessee responds well against good teams. The Titans fought back from a 19-6 second-half deficit against the Colts last Sunday and were a first down away from positioning themselves for a winning field goal. This game features Vince Young going against Reggie Bush, and no one will forget how well Young did against Bush when Texas played USC in the national championship game in 2006." Re: ESPN > John Clayton's 1st and 10
Everyone who talks about Reggie Bush going up against Vince Young is an idiot. I'm sorry, but the two will never be on the field at the same time. It's not like one can stop the other. One goes up against one defense, then the other comes on and goes up against another. It's just a stupid thing to say and it bothers me.

Re: ESPN > John Clayton's 1st and 10
Media hype. always BS for ratings. We all know that.
I have not given up on the Saints and never will. I like the core we have. Best in years on the offensive side of the ball. The defense has not been addressed yet. rent a D is what we have. This years draft was so so, so far. Next years better be an improvement and a little more defensive in nature. It takes time to build an ELITE NFL TEAM. I watch the Pats do it and believe you me there were years the took a step back. But they kept building. This is year two for the rebuilding stage. We have 3/4 of the foundation built. We need to finish it off next year in FA and the Draft. Then we can start on the house that "Sean Built" for everyone to see. But we the true saints fans will know about the foundation that that holds up the house. Time is all that is needed. Love the fact Sean is building something and have the Faith he will finish what he started. A winning team to talk about as a team of a decade. Thats all I want. Is that asking so much. |
