Re: It's time for Reggie Bush to grow up

Hey, I'm a Cowboy fan. You don't want him........? We'll take him!!

This guy is probably the best collegiate player to come along in a couple decades. I know, I know, Heisman's and a great college career doesn't necessarily translate into a great pro career. But c'mon boys!! Talk about "Premature throwing under the bus"?!?!?!

And that post comparing Reggie Bush to Duece McCallister? WTF? News ALERT: Duece ain't going to the Hall of Fame. EVER. PERIOD!! No disrespect, but Duece is a serviceable journeyman. Not even a consistent or perennial Pro Bowler! Nice guy. Local boy. Right up there with Clinton Portis and Micheal Westbrook. But no iconic back he.

This post is the product of what I said over on the other thread. Free agency and salary cap and parity measures have some of you into "instant gratification"......OR ELSE! One decent year that's been called "the greatest Saints year ever" (10-6????) has some of you calling for your best bet's head after 3 games.
He's a kid. And this baloney about Duece being "from here" and "understanding the local folks" and all that PC bullcrap..............hey, this ain't politics or Social Studies 101. It's Professional tackle football. It makes no difference where Bush is from.
He's definitely into the "Dale Earnhardt Jr." syndrome right now. Too many commercials and social engagements, not enough football. That may be a distraction temporarily, but he'll grow out of that and commit to tackle football soon enough.
Give the kid some time..........JEEZ!!!!!

I'm glad that folks didn't give up on Emmitt Smith after 19 whole games!!!!

Wow. This is the first post that I've seen from you and welcome you to the board. I love Deuce and worry that I'll never see him play for the Saints again but you've got a great point about Bush. The kid has a lot of talent. I have faith that he will be a great running back for the Saints.

You're right lewpac. I'm just waiting on the "let's tank the rest of the season so we can get the #1 draft pick" crowd to show up...and they will.

... of course, what else can we expect from someone who's never ever played a contact sport and gets paid to belittle men any other way but in front of them.

I can barely stand to listen to sports radio or read about sports anymore, because lil' asoles like this Larry Holder.

Have any of you, ever, went thorugh a rough period, being a divorce, a death, unemployment, whathaveyou, and just didn't want to talk about it? Why is it any different with athletes? So Reggie is going to a rough spot and doesn't want to talk about it. So what? Do we really need to hear how the Saints are going to miss Deuce? Don't we all know that already?

So Karney cried. Ok. Karney cried last year at the home opener and cried during the playoff win. So the kid is very emotional. Do all Saints players need to cry also?

And this business about the dinner party: 1st, is hearsay. A columinst in Yahoo sports - those Pulitzer prize winners - referenced a column where they wrote... did you verify it was true, Holder? Or just decided to "reference" the column and didn't even bothered to check if it was true or not? And if it was true, did you attempted to learn why was it that Bush didn't attend?

As for making all those commercials and flying around the globe, does Holder realize that a lot of the companies that use Bush in their commercials are the same companies that have shelled out hundreds of thousands of dollars to help New Orleans rebuilding effort - you know, GM, Adidas, etc - and they did so to secure Reggie as a spokesperson?

No. It is just easier to act all offended and criticize someone because he didn't feel like talking.

RIGHT ON TOBIAS!!! This is nit-picky bulls****!! Karney and Reggie are two different people (and both west-coasters Hagan). How were Reg and Deuce so close last year and so eager to help each other according to the media and now this crap??

We win - all this sh** goes away. Bottom line. And we WILL win.

......and how he's donated thousands of dollars to help rebuild the community
.....and how he's in his SECOND YEAR!!
.....and how all these people are gonna eat crow when he pulls off another 3 TD game.

I mean Mare, maybe yeah, but REGGIE?? Don't do to this kid what we did to Ricky Williams.

Ok, that article was idiotic. Just another instance of a hack 'reporter' trying to invent news instead of reporting news.

Let's have a look at the situation for a second. Your team is sucking wind. The guy who's been mentoring you for over a year just went out unexpectedly. You're now going to be The Guy.
You haven't had any time for all of this to really set in, but there's someone with a mic and camera in your face wanting to know how you feel?

And how is this "disrespect" to Duece? I just don't get it. I don't think I'd want to talk in that situation either.
The kid (that's right HE'S A KID) is probably a little scared, having suddenly become Duece's replacement rather than Duece's sidekick.

They just need to leave this garbage alone. Either he's going to perform, or he's not.
We'll soon find out.
