0-3 Saints come back
New Orleans Saints
This is why they might do it: How could the NFL's top offense and top passing game in 2006 look so inept one year later? It's hard to believe that Drew Brees has forgotten how to play at the level he did last season, when he had the best year of any passer in Saints history. The season-ending knee injury to running back Deuce McAllister is a huge blow, but Sean Payton is a smart enough coach to figure out ways to overcome his loss and get more production from Reggie Bush and others. This is why they might not: Their offensive line is a severe handicap and probably won't allow the passing or running games to make the major improvement necessary to pull the team out of its funk. Last year, the Saints were consummate overachievers, driven mostly by the sheer emotion of their community's post-Katrina recovery. This year, they have been exposed for being a team with many shortcomings. And there is no reason to think that Bush, an outside runner with excellent receiving skills, can make up for the absence of the powerful McAllister. |

Re: 0-3 Saints come back
I don't thing there is any 'might' involved. There is no comback, they will not reach 10-6 like they did last year... and its simple the O line and D at times all over achieved.

Re: 0-3 Saints come back
No comeback. We have Carolina twice, the Bucs once and just look at the AFC teams we play who we know we can't beat.
I hope I eat my words but the Saints are lost this year and should'nt let another 5 years go by (like Hasbeen) before we start thinking some changes need to be made. I'm not saying this year but what I am saying is if this year we go 4-12 and then next year we start out the same way they should think about getting Parcells or someone like him out of retirement and stop trying to do this coaching thing on the cheap. It produces benefits in the short term because it's different but long term we all get heart borken everytime. |

It produces benefits in the short term because it's different but long term we all get heart borken everytime.[/ If anyone remember it was Fassel who demoted Payton of his play calling duties and the Giants went on to the super bowl. To me he did not use Duece and Reggie in the correct manner, he seems to bent on making Reggie an inside runner and at this time in his career Reggie is not built for it. So with that being said if we do go 4-12 and start next year the same yes a coaching change is needed, who I can't say at this time but one will be needed. |
