Word out of Atlanta is he is very unhappy with Coach Petrino and his staff, and Petrino feels the same way about him. Hall has repeatedly been heard talking about how much he misses Coach Mora Jr. by some of the coaches and they don't like it, and from what I've heard, he's not the only one that feels that way. Now next year he is a FA, and from all the press won't be franchised, Now think about it, a true shut down corner with the kind of swagger, attitude, and cockiness our secondary desperately needs. I know that this would be one hell of bold move but that's what big time Championship caliber teams do, they don't hesitate, they pull the trigger. Look, we tried going with second tier players and look where that got us, NOWHERE. So now let's just go after what we truly need, TALENT. Well, that's my thoughts, and when he becomes available I hope we give him some strong considerations.
=

Would I like to see his talent in B & G? Yes. Would I like to see him in B & G? HELL NO. Whether or not he likes his coaches he is an employee and the coaches are his bosses. He mouths off and creates problems. He almost singlehandedly lost the Carolina game for Atlanta.

We struggle and talk about some of the problem children in this league and everyone wants to emulate the Patriots, signing Hall is not how you emulate them. Yeah, yeah, yeah they signed Randy Moss, but he needed them mor than they needed him and the rest of the vets in that locker room will tear him a new one if he mouths off, we do not have that kind of leadership on this team.

DeAngelo Hall is a cancer, if I KNEW FOR A FACT he would not act the way he is shown to act then hell yeah I would love him, but he is a jackass.

Can someone refresh my memory, please. Besides this resent episode, what other situation or trouble he's been in to call him a cancer. A lot of players get frustrated when going through a season like they are, so what he loss his cool for a minute, he's still better than anything we've ever had on the corners, now or in the past.

Agreed
But no one can say that for sure, he may very well have a bad disposition and it may not even come down to him getting mad just because they are having a bad season start
I don’t think one player will ever be the answer to this or and team or defensive unit’s problems.

Looking at our D I honestly don't think that the problem falls solely with the players. I think it comes down to the coaching style of the defense.
These guys are not being put to there best use in this particular scheme

So that being said I say go after a new Defensive coach, a solid MLB and better OL's

First off, Hall turns 24 next month. If that's "past his prime" then pass me the depends and reserve my room at the nursing home. He's not Champ Bailey, but who is? He's better than any CBs we've got now.

Everyone is quick to call guys "cancers", but do we ever stop to think that maybe these guys just want to win? I'd rather hear Brees or Reggie or someone calling their teammates or the coaches out than this silence I'm hearing right now. Guys that care about winning won't settle for less, those that don't are content with picking up that check each week. That's what scares me the most about the 2007 Saints, they're becoming complacent.

People always complained about guys like Corey Dillion and Randy Moss, but look what happened when you put them on a real football team. You never heard their teammates complaining about them before and now the rest of the league is saying "hey, Moss is still the best receiver in football. Who knew?".

So yeah, if the price is right, bring Hall on.

Just off the top of my head:

- Master of the late hit. This past week where he jacked Steve Smith in the chin was just the most recent example. Besides that, I can remember him hitting Devery Henderson low five yards deep in the end zone. He had a dirty hit on Jon Kitna last season which caused the center (Raoila I think?) to say that eventually, when he saw DeAngelo Hall again on the field, he was going to take him out. If I remember correctly, DeAngelo then stated that the center could come over to his house and fight. That's real mature. And that's just a few of the dirty shots I'm sure, I just can't remember the others.

- Started a fight BEFORE a Monday Night Football game a few seasons ago against the Eagles. He went and hit Jeremiah Trotter, and for some reason he never got punished for it.

- Talks more smack than anybody in the league. He's just a bad guy, and trouble follows bad guys, trouble this team doesn't need. Remember when T.O. spit in his face? It wasn't because Hall was shutting him down, it was because that cocky bastard wouldn't shut up the entire game. Sure, it's part of the game and it doesn't break rules, but there's something to be said for class. I think that's why so many people love Marvin Harrison, because he can whoop your ass on that field, but after he's done, he just goes right back to work.

Nobody will argue that the former 8th overall pick is talented. But I would puke my guts out if I saw him in black and gold. He's by far my least favorite player in the league because he represents pretty much everything wrong with this new generation of athletes. I would be willing to sacrifice having a little more talent than having to watch this dirty SOB wear my favorite jersey.

Sign him he is a great young talent in the league. Our defense could use his energy. Before he blew a fuse against the Panthers he had shut Steve Smith down. He has talent at a position that we are lacking in.

Dude. You just hit every point that I was going to make. Thank you. You made my day!
to paraphrase: Who gives a fat baby's arse if he 'talks smack' and has an 'attitude'? I care less about this guy's social skills than I do about his playing ability and what that could mean to this team. Let's face it: they're not looking to pay him a boatload of money to make commercials for the United Way and be a role model for our kids.

I get so sick of people quick to slap a 'cancer' label on players because of some of the childish things they do and say. Who cares if they're bad boys? If they can play and contribute, bring em on! Sitting on the fence and poo-pooing about 'character' issues prevents this franchise from getting players like Moss, Owens, etc. and look what it gets us? (insert cricket chirping sound bite here) Hall is, arguably, one of the top five corners in the game right now. Rolling the dice on draft day and HOPING to develop a player in 3-5 years? Are you kidding me? I don't know about you, but unless this team begins to AGGRESSIVELY court top notch fre agent talent in the next couple years, we might as well dust off the 'Aints headgear in the closet and get used to being perennial losers for the next 30 years.

My two cents...
