We could have got Dwayne Bowe instead of Meachem. Did the front office watch this guy play in LSU. Bowe and Colston could have been the most feared WRs in th NFL

Tell me if I am wrong but I believe the Bowe is a slower WR like Colston. The front office took what we needed at WR which is a decent sized receiver with speed and better hands. Having two Colston's will not scare any defense.

Now I may be completely and idiot here because I am not op top of the LSU players and how fast they may be but I believe that I am right. If I am wrong then the front office is a bunch of idiots, if we weren't drafting a dominant D or O line and drafting just because then Bowe seems like a much better player.

Bowe was the 23rd pick. The Saints picked 27th. So, no, we couldn't have gotten him.

Well, it's been an entire pre-season and three regular games with a bye. Meachem should at least have a clue by now. I say it's time to activate him for a couple games, and let Devery Henderson sit. Lets see what the kid can do. If Meachem is still not ready, at least it gives Henderson enough time to get HIS act together.

Colston runs a 4.4. Bowe runs a 4.5. Neither is slow. Meachem has better speed, not better hands.

That is what I was going to say, but I need to look up the numbers. But I remember Stalworth ran a 4.39 and was considered one if not the fastest guy on the team. I believe Henderson has good speed too and ran a 4.43 or so, for Colston to have that kind of speed would truly be shocking.

Opps my bad... I was mistaken.

He ran a 4.5 on this first run and a 4.55 on his second try I believe.

Oh yea, on Stallworth and Henderson... we can see that straight line speed means little. On Madden, it would be a different story.

What difference does it make? We have Meachum, he's still in sweats during games and is clueless/useless at this point. At some point, Payton has to put him in to evaluate his progress. Hopefully, before the season is really over.

The difference is that people are pining for Bowe, two possession receivers will not help anything. Especially since our line cannot block anything. The safeties have two main reasons to not play deep.

1. D line is slaughtering the chumps in front of them and the QB has no time to throw.

2. You look across to see slower possession receivers with no deep speed to force you to be careful.

As for Henderson and Stallworth I seem to remember Stallworth having a really good year when Horn was out most of the year, and I remember Henderson as well. The problem they both have are a lack of concentration and catching too many balls with their body.
