Second, because it's been a position that this franchise has flat out ignored for about a decade. Third, because previous posters are absolutely right, we need a push up the middle as well as from the edges. You can't have two crap defensive tackles (which Hollis and our street free agents are playing like) and expect to control the line of scrimmage. Put GD in there and see how much it frees up Will Smith and Charles Grant. Also, we can't stop the f***ing run up the middle. It's embarrassing and perhaps the most frustrating thing to watch when LenDale "My Coach Calls me Fat" White is pounding it all over you because you don't have anybody in the middle who can stop him. Think about it: Glenn Dorsey, Will Smith, Charles Grant, Hollis Thompson. Woooooo. That's a line that can dominate the trenches, don't you think?
I think you are right. We need a DT that will draw double teams, if they don't double team our DT our DE will have a better edge -one on one. Not they seem to be drawing a lot of double teams themselves. With Dorsey I'd say give the DE another shot next year or trade them to get some baddly needed help else where.

Re: The Draft

I have no clue what our biggest need is. I rather wait until after the season plays out and see who's out there in free agency.

Re: The Draft

the defense has been ignored in the draft as we all know. But if there is a stud OL prospect take him. FINISH the building please so we can move on. Please tell me we are close to done with offensive dominance in the draft.

For the most part, they held a very good running Tenn team in check. You're barkin' up the wrong tree here.

Staying in your lanes is different from getting push. You can play the run good and not get any push. If you do not get push your DE's will not get to the QB. I am not agreeing with the above poster, but if your QB can just step to avoid them because of a lack of interior push you will never get a sack. Look back at the Titans game, Drew could never just step up, Haynesworth had an amazing push just about every play. Just because we perform well against the run does not mean our DT's are playing well and our DE's are playing bad.
