INJURY SITUATION
The Saints currently have three players on injured reserve -- running back Deuce McAllister, tight end Mark Campbell and safety Steve Gleason.Four players sat out Wednesday's practice, including linebacker Scott Fujita with a sore right ankle. Cornerback Jason David (forearm), defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy (toe) and wide receiver David Patten (calf) also missed practice. Of those four players, only David has been ruled out of this week's game against Carolina. Fujita and Clancy are still questionable. "A lot of it is based on how they recover in the next 24 to 48 hours," Payton said of Fujita and Clancy's situation. "It's a wait and see." If Fujita isn't able to go, Payton said veteran free agent signees Brian Simmons or Troy Evans will be next in line. "We have a couple of guys working at that spot," Payton said. "Brian Simmons is an experienced player and we have Troy Evans as well. Those guys got most of the work today." The Town Talk - www.thetowntalk.com - Alexandria-Pineville, Louisiana |
"We may have lost the game, but you'll be hurting tomorrow." Doug Atkins

Re: Injury Situation
We need Fujita for this game. And please, if anybody sees Sean Payton around, tell him to get Mark Simoneau the f*** out of the game ASAP. We have a very good player in Brian Simmons on the sidelines who actually shows some athleticism. Please!

Re: Injury Situation
Man, WTF is up with Simoneau, is he married to Payton's sister. I for one fell for that best player plays crap, well that has not been the case when it comes to Simmons. If Simmons is not better than Simoneau then why is he on the team? Coach Payton PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do the right thing and start MLB Brian Simmons.

Re: Injury Situation
If Fugita misses, they will have to play Simmons in his place. At least we will get a chance to see him, but will miss Fugita big time.
