Forecast: Saints need to get mad
Friday, October 5, 2007
WWL-AM
Ralph Malbrough / "The Forecast"

Drew Brees can feel free to go Bobby Hebert on Devery Henderson if
Henderson drops another pass.

Is it just me or are the Saints way too calm about their complete
ineptness?

The whole, "We're ok. This is too good of a team and we know what we
are capable of and we aren't going to panic" line was tired after 0-2.

It's as annoying as Emmit Smith on Sunday Countdown at 0-3.

Hey Reggie Bush, have you read and heard all the stuff said about you
the last two weeks? If you haven't, here's a recap of the national
media: you're a bust, a failure, and quite possibly the worst number
two pick since Ryan Leaf. Oh, and everyone thinks your attempt to be an
every down back will be a bigger failure than Carrot Top's movie
career.

The Saints have lost that emotion they had last year. The whole,
"playing for the city of New Orleans" fuel is gone.

It was a one time magical boost and to think it would carry over to
this season would have been foolish.

Last year was the perfect storm of good breaks, good fortune and good
play. In 2007, the Saints haven't once had that same spark they had
last year.

Of course, it's hard to have emotion and get the crowd in a frenzy when
the Saints are getting pounded every week.

In three games I can honestly say I've only been excited twice: during
Jason David's interception return against the Colts and his
interception against the Titans.

Jason David has the Saints' two biggest plays of 2007: not good. This
Sunday the Saints get one final chance to try and salvage 2007.

1-3 in the NFC would still have them in critical condition. At 0-4 we
can ask the doctor to state time of death.

As Kanye West says, "Now that that don't kill me can only make me
stronger. I need you to hurry up now cause I can't wait much longer."
Ah, sweet, sweet Kanye, always there for me with a crafty tune of
inspiration.

Time has run out for the Saints. It's time to get mad or get buried.

The Saints need to get mad, angry, ticked, maybe even throw something.
