Payton Speaks Of Lineup Changes,Yet No Mention Of Simoneau
Coach Payton must have turned a blind eye to his MLB position, because if he hadn't he would've seen by now that Mark Simoneau is a Hugh liability not an asset. Even when this guy is in great position to make a game changing play he just can't get it done. In Sunday's game, first he was in position to make an interception and it goes right through his hands, if he makes that catch it's clear sailing straight to the end zone. And please don't say that it was a difficult play for a LB to make because Keith Bullocks play the same position and he had three and damn near came up with a fourth. On the other game changing play Simoneau fell directly on a fumble, I'm still trying to figure out how exactly did that ball pop out of there like it did, I mean he was right there on the ball, ridiculous. Man, Payton has to see that this guy don't have any playmaking ability what soever, it's nothing personal, but it is what it is. There needs to be a change at MLB immediately or this defense will remain weak and vulnerable up the middle. So Coach, when you're making you're personnel decisions please give some serious thought to changing your MLB, if Fujita is still out, move Brian Simmons to the middle and play Troy Evans or Alfred Fincher in the place of Fujita, or keep Simmons on the outside and replace Simoneau with the rook Marvin Mitchell, anything is better than keeping Mark Simoneau in the middle, anything.

I hope Payton doesn't fall into the "He's my favorite Player". I don't see the harm in playing MM. He won't be the only starting rookie LB.

The title of the thread says Payton speaks of lineup changes. Where is it?

Simoneau must be Payton's mentally challenged step-brother. He's obligated to give him a position on the team - but instead of water boy, it's MIDDLE LINEBACKER.

Middle linebackers need to be the heart and soul of a defense. This guy is the worst I have ever seen. I would be willing to trade one of these "great" offensive players for a ML that can "knock a snot bubble" every week.
Payton has decided to go with what he has again. Last year, he had no choice but to bring in three LB's and they overachieved. This year, he brings in Simmons and sits him untill Fujita goes down. Wow, they must have a different TIVO than I do. |

I know this is going to upset some of ya'll but I wasn't impressed with Simmons play either. It's just a shame we can't play Evans at MLB. With his intensity he'd have to be better than what we have.
