Re: Great blocking by our O-Line
I wish we could have atleast got a field goal when we started running every play to run the clock out.
I'd feel more confident in this team if they could have done it effectively. Congrats to them, though, for still having the lead stretched to a point where it was still extremely difficult to lose. |
Re: Great blocking by our O-Line
Euphoria I got your back. I saw that play when Karney blocked six people by himself and Reggie ran over 4 guys and got his longest run of the year. Then on the next play Karney only blocked 5 guys and Reggie ran over 6 guys for his 2nd longest run of the year. Good thing Seattle only rushed 1 guy at a time it took all 5 olinemen to block him. They have given up 4 sacks all year. We got 5 sacks in one game with our defense and our oline has given 4 sacks in 5 games.
Drew completed 69%. I hear stats dont mean anything but if you can limit henderson to only missing two balls (only throw him 2 balls) hopefully I wont have to wonder about the 1:Lets start palko thread 2:Brooks and Brees are similar qbs thread. |
Re: Great blocking by our O-Line
Hahaha!
It's good to see people catching the ball again. Big game for Patten. We need to consistently play like he did. It doesn't have to be huge gains or even touchdowns - just get the first downs and extend the drives. We needed a possession receiver in a bad way. |
Re: Great blocking by our O-Line
This O-Line did not make much happen in the second half, where blocking up the middle was the game plan. They did not handle the blitz well, and the only thing one can say is that if Bush is healthy and looks upfield, he'll make the O-line look like professional footballers.
Lucky win over a reeling team. Lets see how they bounce back from this win against the ATL. |
Re: Great blocking by our O-Line
Lucky win? Did you see Dallas last monday night? I would call kicking an onside kick and then making a 53 yd field goal lucky. Carolina against the Saints when a kicker misses a 20 yd fg or a wr tips a ball to a defender late in the game I would call that lucky. We just put up 28 points on the 2nd or 3rd best team in the NFC on the road.

Euphoria, Are you kidding me? I was going to say more on this subject but I just don't know what else to say right now. The line play they're best game of the year and I'm going to enjoy it it all week, I hope you do the same. |
Re: Great blocking by our O-Line
I have heard/read all of the comments about how bad our offensive and defensive lines have played all year. They really haven't play that badly. Until last night, they weren't positioned to get the most out of what they bring to the field (Payton/Gibbs/Marrone). Blocking for Reggie/Stecker is not like blocking for Duece - different backs needing different angles of attack. Duece benefitted from and loved running up Karney's back. FINALLY Payton decided to lead Bush with Karney and everything opened up - ONCE AGAIN. Reggie won't break many tackles, and with Karney he will definitely have fewer to break. Added pressure on the defensive side helped those boys tremendously also. PROPS to both O and D lines.
