Colston and the Passing game?!!
I think Payton hasn't been calling his number enough. I remember last year this guy putting out 10 catch 160 yrd games, Brees missed Colston on a couple plays that I think would of given Colston a 100yrd game (he had 3 cth 45yrds) but he's a match up problem that I think Coach doesn't look to exploit more like he did last year

Re: Colston and the Passing game?

IMHO Colston has all the tools to be great WR for years to come. I think he has a bit of a confidence problem right now. However, it looked to me this Sunday that he went a long way towards resolving this. I believe he will only get better as the season goes on. Here's looking at you Marques. I believe in you!!!!!!

Re: Colston and the Passing game?

He is a number WR waiting for the #2 to step up and help him out. Till then he is going to have a hard time. I still think he is better off at the #2. Hopefully Mech and his knee gets their act together and get on the field.
If not I have been thinking about the rumor in Arizona, that just wont die, about Fitz not being happy. Maybe our #1 and Mech to put this WR issue to rest for the next 5 years.

I dont think he has a confidence problem. He not thrown to that much. Why are we still talking about Meachem. Moore and Patten are better than him. I didnt like the way he played in the preseason. So I have less confidence in him right now.

I dont think it's Payton not calling his number but Brees looking off him to early. When Brees go back to pass he's not giving Colston time to seperate before he check down to his second and third options. I think Colston is way too talented not to be thrown to at least 7 to 10 times a game, he's the kind of WR that's going to win most of his battles, so Brees if your listening, throw MARQUES the damn ball!!!!!!!!!!!!
