this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think big Hollis Thomas could have got a game ball, he was manhandling the middle of Atlanta O-Line....

I cannot believe he gave Stinky a game ball. I saw on a couple of separate plays where he was just flat out beaten. Brown deserved his game ball. I never saw Abraham involved in a play in the backfield. I hate to say it as losing your position when you are hurt stinks, but I believe that Goodwin outplayed Faine. I have consistently seen Faine beaten like a drum this year. Hopefully Goodwin can play well and we can address Center in the draft, or maybe one of our current backups will be up to it Goodwin, Alleman, or Bushrod. However I believe Center as the second hardest O line position behind LT and tied with RT to find a great player. Not only does he have to stand up to some nasties on the other side of the ball, he also has blocking adjustments to set. |

Re: Payton gives his game balls
What has been the cause of the timeouts taken early in halves this season?
“Yesterday I wasn’t as good. We were late getting the play in and I hate to burn (timeouts), especially in the second half when you get left with just one. I thought we handled the end of the game well, in regards to how we managed the final two minutes. But I’d prefer not to burn those for no reason. We just have to keep working through the substitutions. Drew does a pretty good job of getting us in and out of the huddle. Our tempo – when we’re going – is fairly fast. I can be a lot better that way; I need to be.” I really like hearing that from a coach. Especially the Saints coach. |
