What has been the cause of the timeouts taken early in halves this season?

“Yesterday I wasn’t as good. We were late getting the play in and I hate to burn (timeouts), especially in the second half when you get left with just one. I thought we handled the end of the game well, in regards to how we managed the final two minutes. But I’d prefer not to burn those for no reason. We just have to keep working through the substitutions. Drew does a pretty good job of getting us in and out of the huddle. Our tempo – when we’re going – is fairly fast. I can be a lot better that way; I need to be.”

I really like hearing that from a coach. Especially the Saints coach.

Am I the only one who thinks Payton uses his TOs too liberally? I feel like he always calls them in unneccessary situations.
