I'm not feeling too spunky on this one. For some reason, I think the Saints will be flat again in the first half (down 17-7). But the boys come back and get the offense going, shut down the 9'ers and win 21-20.

Re: saints vs 49's final prediction.......

I posted this in a previous thread, but here it is again with some add-on;

I think the keys to success for Saints to bring home a W from Monster Park is simply "don't beat yourself". This game is ours to win if we don't have a turnover frenzy.
- 9ers offense is basically Frank Gore, so stuff Gore and pressure Dilfer or Alex Smith (listed as probable).
- 9ers haven't scored over 20 points in a game so far this season, they won their first 2 but have been on a 4 game losing streak since.
- Both Saints and 9ers are 2-4, but the trend shows the 9ers on a decline and the Saints improving
- former Saints Michael Lewis is now the 9ers return specialist, we all know he's dangerous. Kick the ball deep and cover.
- 9ers need a win after losing 4 straight, so watch the onside kick, fake punts, and any other trick-or-treats they might serve up.

I see the Saints giving the 9ers the same treatment the Hawks got. Saints defense shows up big and holds another offense under a 100yds rushing. Pierre Thomas takes some attention off Reggie and he burns the 9ers defense and gets nominated for FedX ground player of the week. Lance Moore and Colston also share the highlight reels in this 9er spanking. Olindo Mare finds redemption as he helps pad the lead with 3 field goals.

Saints 30
9ers 17

I feel pretty good about getting a win against the 49'ers, Gore's numbers are down the last three games due to a poor passing game by the 49'ers.

Gore's numbers the last three games.

SEA 16 for 79 yards
BAL 16 for 52 yards
NYG 14 for 88 yards

Saints win this one by 10 points.

Saints keep Gore under a 100 yards....

This will be a tough one for us. They have some good players on D. Two very good corners in Clements and Harris. I don't see the Saints blowing these guys out, but I do see a victory. 20-16 Saints. If we lose, Drew had another bad game.

For what it's worth ESPN just announced that Alex Smith is starting this week. He hasn't played too well this year but he's better than Dilfer.

Reggie and Alex were teammates in high school at Helix (La Mesa, Calif.).
