New York Times article on Aaron Brooks not playing
An interesting read: Quote: ....So I thought Brooks had simply retired, disillusioned with the game. I figured he walked away and was living happily ever after with his wife and their daughter. Not exactly. “First and foremost, I definitely want to play,” Brooks said Thursday night from his home in Richmond, Va. “I am not retired. I’m not hanging up my shoes up.” ...They ask, ‘Why aren’t you playing?’” Brooks said. “They see all of these quarterbacks getting injured and want to know: ‘Why aren’t you getting calls? Why aren’t you in camp?’ I don’t know what to say, but yeah, it hits me from time to time. “I don’t know. Is it something I said?” Could be. Brooks may still be serving time for the comments he made in 2005 when the Saints, like New Orleans itself, were demoralized by unimaginable upheavals caused by Katrina. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/27/sp...l?ref=football |

Re: New York Times article on Aaron Brooks not playing
If nobody calls AB after the beginning of this season, then he is toast as far as a NFL'er. I think that everyone knows he really doesn't give a hoot and it's all about himself. I mean if Vinny and Todd come back before AB, there is something on him. It would be interesting is Carolina took and chance and we had AB and Jake competing for a starting job again, though.

Re: New York Times article on Aaron Brooks not playing
I am one who doesn't understand why he is not playing somewhere. Just about every team in the NFL could use him in a backup roll. He could actually be starting for several teams right now. Like I stated before, I think he may have gotten blackballed. Maybe it is because of his general attitude, or perhaps (and unfairly) is because of being related to Michael Vick. Then again, like andersen stated, it could be there is something on him, that none of us are aware about. Who knows...

I tend to shy away from conspiracy theories as to why a particular thing is or is not happening. It could be a very simple reason that he's not getting the calls. Since my opinion of him is well-known, I'll just leave it at that.

They may think he's just to eratic a QB to be playing. At least I didn't say he stinks as a QB!
