Saints game production problems
Did anyone else notice that the FOX station that carried the game SUCKED!
Constantly the cameras were the wrong angle missing half of the play before getting to the "all 22" cam. The grafix the station put up were frequently wrong. Anyone who Tivo'd the game watch it again, at one point a grafic said we had an 0-4 record through the first 7 games. Are these people professionals??? And the loser bouquet of announcers you get when the teams playing have bad records is rediculous. On a side note please send donations of puffs plus tissues to San Francisco's Frank Gore. He looked as if he was about to cry sitting on the cooler by the gatorade by himself. Good thing it was not his ball or he would have taken it and gone home. |

No...but I did notice that the commentators from the game were extremely dry and they lacked serious skills in humor.

Re: Saints game production problems
I would love to listen to the radio and watch the game, but the radio is ahead of the action on the screen so I don't like that. By ahead I mean 4 or 5 seconds ahead. It got me to thinking that the radio stations ought to time delay the broadcast like 10 seconds or so. I've got DVR so if the radio broadcast is behind the television broadcast I could sync it up. That would rock.
Otherwise, I was ranting to my wife about the awful commentators that the Saints always draw because they know NOTHING about the team other than what they learned in the day they spent studying up about them. We came up with a good solution, I think: Each game broadcast (Except nationally like Sunday and Monday night football) should consist of 3 announcers. 1 play by play man with no team affiliation and then 2 color commentators who follow each team. SO, in Sundays game we would have had a play by play guy, a color commentator that follows the Saints all season and a color commentator that follows the 49ers all season. I think this would bring a HUGE amount of knowledge to the commentary of the games and might even make for some intense moments between the color guys. This would fix the graphic or camera problems, but would certainly make listening to them easier. |

Re: Saints game production problems
bad games for network draw bad crews. as team improves, so will crews. I'm betting that Saints vs either Bucs or Panthers later get top or near top Fox crews. Jags game this week will get CBS's either #2 or 3 crew. #1 is obviously going to that mid-season Super Bowl game played up in Indy. The Bucs and/or Panthers games are a good shot at being moved to Sunday night per flex scheduling depending on both teams records and other games. that would of course REALLY prove the point about broadcasting crews and the games if we get Madden etc. looking at weekly schedules now, Id say its good bet that Bucs game and esp the Eagles games are good bet to move to NBC. crappy schedules those days. Philly is at New England same night we play Carolina so not likely to move that game. If Arizona and/or Chicago drastically improve, those games would be possibilities, too.
