Re: Is the Rams game really a gimmie?
No game is a gimme. But it really has nothing to do with the Rams. Like SaintsFaninATLHELL said, if you've been around the Saints for any length of time, YOU KNOW that we can blow a high. We could simply give the game away. We could try a fake draw quadrouple reverse toss back cross field post pattern on 3rd and 2. Sacks, fumbles, INT's, false starts in the red zone, drops, olindo's, you name it. I have more confidence in our team against quality opponents. We seem to play down to our competition, and that's scarey. I'm still kind of speechless from this past week. Who remembers where we were four weeks ago? We are just one or two mishaps, or lacks of concentration away from returning to Funkinville. If we don't show up each week and play solid football, we could even lose to Notre Dame.

Historically, the Saints have been the salve that heals all NFL wounds. We've given every team that's had a major disasterous streak a confidence boost in the form of an inexplicable win.
No game is a gimme with the Saints. |

Re: Is the Rams game really a gimmie?
Had Steven Jackson not leave the game Sunday in the 1st/ beginning 2nd quarter, the Rams could have blown the Browns out. They blew a 14-3 lead. Jackson, Bulger, the line, and Drew Bennett's injuries are all a contributing factor to the Ram's unsuccessful season. Also, a Haslett/Venturi coached defense doesn't help much neither. A healthy Steven Jackson is scary and they can put up points quick. Coming into the season some would say he was the 2nd best running back and I would have agreed.
The Saints will be in a physical fight with Jax and will probably be beat up going into the Rams game while they rest. No gimme at all. I am sure no one was saying that the Saints were a gimme after going 0-4. 0-8 is worse, but their key injuries have hurt them badly. I'd feel much better if Hakim was returning punts. |
