Adam Schefter gives props to the Saints O-line
Quote:
New Orleans' secret recipe The biggest reason New Orleans has jumped back into contention in the NFC South and turned around its season is because of its once leaky offensive line. In its past four games, New Orleans hasn’t allowed a single sack –- the longest sackless streak for any of the league’s offensive lines this season. Offensive tackle Jammal Brown is the Saints most well-known lineman, but guard Jahri Evans is the Saints best offensive lineman. And in addition to their protection, Saints quarterback Drew Brees has gotten rid of the ball quicker and picked up the pace of the offense. Now the Saints are playing the way they did last year, with an up-tempo style that helped them become the high-scoring offense they were. http://www.nfl.com/news/story;jsessi...o&confirm=true |

Re: Adam Schefter gives props to the Saints O-line
It was said in an article I read, sorry do not remember the source, that the Saints simply turned it down a notch with o-line assignments. Early in the season the Saints were complicating things with the o-line assignments, and now they have simplified things. I also put some blame on Jammal Brown, in fairness to him, he was playing with a bad knee early on. I also think at the time that Drew Brees was holding on to the ball too long. Part of that can be the crappy play at WR early on. But anyway, it should be no big secret. Protect the QB, run the ball with some guts, and the rest of it will happen. It is now happening, lets see if the Saints can get somewhere with it...
