To the Boobirds
Hey, here's an idea: let's wait till Mare misses the FG to start booing him. How do you expect ANY kicker to come on and make a kick when everyone in his own stadium is booing him just for coming onto the field? I know the guy really sucks, but atleast wait till he misses it.

Re: To the Boobirds
It would be like booing a dropped pass, or a missed tackle - just not called for. Neither were chip shots: 43 and 54. Cheer for him next time and see what happens.

Re: To the Boobirds
Brees was upset the fans were booing, if you want ot boo do it after a miss field goal, not before..
Uncalled for, Payton shaking his head after the last miss FG said it all.. Bye-bye Mare... |

Re: To the Boobirds
no its not ANYTHING like booing a dropped pass or a missed tackle. It's like booing a dropped pass when you are open in the endzone or a missed tackle at the five for a TD. How many dropped pass at the 50 cost you points? NONE! How many missed field goals cost you points? ALL OF THEM! Mare can't kick. He is a done for. Let him go. I don't blame anyone for booing. When your kicker is under 50% on field goals, and he is still getting paid, it is time he gets booted.

Re: To the Boobirds
I think Payton can see for himself that Mare is not the answer.
I think the fans are only hurting their team by booing it. I don't agree with booing a player who is trying to do the right thing and help his team win games (he just obviously doesn't have the ability to be accurate). I DO agree with booing a player who has become a cancer. Mare just needs to be parted with amicably to find a job. Vanderjact please? |

Re: To the Boobirds
Think of it not so much the fans booing Mare but that they are booing the field goal attempt which is most likely going to fail...

I agree Mare needs to go, he is way too inconsistend. However, Vanderjagt scares me a bit. From what I understand, he tends to miss in pressure situations. Still, he would be an improvement.
