Speaking of dumb mistakes however, this whole game could have been much closer had we not got some breaks. The Patten play speaks out, but Bush's muffed punt was luckily recovered. The game was very close at that point and would have been a big momentum swing had the Jags recovered. Also, for Brees to have the fumble (almost 2) and for it not to cost us was lucky. We also had challenges go our way (that doesn't happen often!). Throw in some bad punt coverage and another big pass play for a TD against us, then there are reasons to be thanking our lucky stars for the victory. The Saints earned this victory and I am happy as can be to see them back in contention. They've come very far in the last month and have every reason to be proud of what they've done. They just have to make sure they earn the next few victories like they did this one! |
