perspective on rough start

Lookin up some stats gettin ready for fantasy football and came across interesting info on 3 of our 4 losses. Going to list 3 teams we lost to and where they rank in the NFL for fewest points allowed per game. Stats may not mean much but half way through the season this is what they allow per game.
Titans #2 15.5
Colts #3 15.8
Bucs #4 16

Looks like nobody is doing much better than we did against these teams. I have the Titans defense and they put up big #s in FF.

Jax #9 18.9

Jax still has a good average after what we did to them they must have been much lower before the game.

Rams #28 27.4

We scored 20 points higher on Jax than they average I will be real happy if we do the same to Haslett's defense.

Texans #26 25.1

Now the bad news

Saints #24 23.2

Hopefully our average will continue to go down unless teams score less than we do then I could care less. If we continue to score more than 30 points I dont mind if we average 29.9.

Re: perspective on rough start

The Saints' stats after 8 games is what it is, and we have to include those first 4 games into the mix of averages.
However, I'm looking at these last 4 games where the defense is allowing 16.75/game and the offense is scoring 30.5/game and these numbers are right up there with the best.
Now I understand collectively that the caliber of the teams in the first 4 games is apparently higher than the caliber of teams in the last 4 games, but I believe the outcome of these first 4 games would be different if we could play them again now since the Saints have "found themselves".
We will see 2 of those first 4 again, Tampa and Carolina, and I'm betting the outcomes will be different.

Re: perspective on rough start

Simple put it is how you finish not how you start that matters.
This 0-4 start may have been good for the young team. They may have learned that in the NFL you have to bring it each and every week. This may have been a good thing
