Week 11: Assessing the Situation

Coach Payton won't/can't make necessary adjustments during the game. He also calls too many pass plays (refuses to run the ball).

The Front Office/Ownership refuses to make a play at any big-time free agents.

The DC runs the wrong system and uses the wrong personnel.

The QB makes too many turnovers and lacks the athleticsm to aviod the blitz.

The starting RB can't run the ball tough and won't take a hit.

The O-Line can't protect the QB and can't run block.

The DTs get no push up the middle.

The DEs get no pass rush from the outside.

The LBs are unathletic and can't play the run or the pass.

The CBs are the worst in the league.

The safties don't provide the deep support and don't make plays on the ball.

The kicker is the worst in the league.

By my count, our punter and our receivers are the only players worth a crap. I can't believe we've even won a game.

Dang, brotha, you trying to fill the void left by Norman Mailer? Good observations. No quibble.

Re: Week 11: Assessing the Situation

That was merely a synopsis of the moanings and groanings on this board over the last week. A week ago, half the team was booking tickets to Honolulu, Payton was the Coach of the Year and the team was going 12-4. I hoped y'all would pick up on my sarcasm/cynicism.

This team is still rebuilding. They blew the team up last year. It was as complete an overhaul as I've ever seen in the NFL. Half the roster were new players. That's something we need to keep in mind. I actually amazed that this team is as good as it is.

For all those problems I listed there are just as many bright spots.

For a while, the recieves couldn't catch, either. So, we are left with the punter. If he shanks on, we will be screwed.
