i did a little research and only 2 teams going back to 1995 started 4-6 and made the playoffs.

1. The 1997 Detroit Lions and they lost their game
2. The 2002 New York Jets and they won their game.

hopefully #3 will be the 2007 New Orleans Saints.

Well, you never know. Since 1990 six teams made it after starting 4-6:

The 1990 Saints, 1994 Patriots, 1995 Lions, 1995 Chargers, 1996 Jaguars and 1997 Lions.

The 2002 Jets were actually 5-5 after 10 games.
