You guys tell me......did it look to ya'll like the offensive line didn't block as well for Pierre as they did for Reggie? It sure looked slack to me most of the time.:phat:Maybe it's just he didn't follow his blockers due to lack of playing time and not knowing the schemes.

OMG!!!
I knew it would happen, just not from you...

"The Offensive line didn't block as as well for Pierre as they did for Reggie?"
They're professionals...

He's not that good...
Hence, undrafted...
Hence, never plays...
That's it!

You're both interpreting it incorrectly.

We ran Pierre Thomas every down to run out the clock. Carolina sold out on the run - as they should.

When Stecker and Bush ran, there was still a passing threat. Pierre Thomas aside from 1-carry was only used at the end of the game to kill the clock.

That's why it was harder for him to run.

Exactly. We still scored 31 points and COULD have scored more if we didn't just take it easy and run out the clock in the last quarter.

What's to be learned is:

A consistent offense is acheivable if there is a bit of a running threat. The running threat doesn't have to win the game, but it should still be used.

Sure, fun and gun works sometimes, but when it doesn't it leads to a grossly inconsistent offense. Sound familiar?

Our Yards-Per-Run average would have been higher had we not tried to run out the clock in the last quarter. As I've said above, we stopped passing and Carolina stopped defending the pass.

Our running game was really, really effective today.

So now you're the coach? Hum, geez I sure wasn't aware of that. He seems pretty good to me. But that's my opinion. But, I guess I'm not entitled to an opinion since I'm a moderator. Sorry.

PT ran hard in a tough spot, 4th quarter with the lead. Biggest thing to me was he did not fumble, protecting the ball is #1. Good job PT, hope to see more of him in the 1st half next week

Thats one reason we kept Pierre Thomas and let Antonio Pittman go? The Coaches have admitted he played better and earned the job. Also same thing with Colson last year. We traded Stalworth (1st RD pick) in order to keep and start Colson. The Coaches know when they find those good undrafted players. Usually the Saints staff doesnt... hence we let go of Marc Bulger and Jake Delhomme to keep Aaron Brooks, but at least we are keeping the better players now eventhough we still arent letting them play.
