Mistake in cutting Dwight Smith

Does anyone think that we should have keep Dwight Smith?

He's playing well for the Vikings and he had two interceptions yesterday, one for a 93 yard touchdown. He's shown that he can be a leader in the secondary which I think we are missing.

What were the Saints thinking?

Re: cutting Dwight Smith

Remember last year Minnesota's secondary was not good. He had a good game yesterday. No one will ever know if he would have an impact in Gibbs' defense. It's easy to second guess after the fact.

Now see I can agree with you. Smith isn't really having a better season than he has in the past... its par from other seasons thus far. He had one good game. We need players to have a good game week in and week out which we don't have either.

Re: cutting Dwight Smith

Besides his mediocre play Smith was not and is not a Payton type player....

Aug. 27, 2006: Dwight Smith received a misdemeanor citation from Minneapolis police early Saturday for alleged indecent conduct with a 24-year-old woman in a stairwell near a downtown night club.

April 17, 2003: Defensive back Dwight Smith, poised to start for the Bucs at free safety next season, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion that he pointed a gun at another motorist during a road rage incident. Smith, who lives in Tampa, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm, a third-degree felony. He posted $5,000 bail and was released from the Pinellas County Jail on Wednesday evening.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over, over, and over again...and expecting a different outcome!
