Will we ever really know?
This regime that is running the saints right now are very good at keeping quiet. It is still way early, not even a preseason scrimmage yet, but all I seem to hear is a big positive spin on everything coming out of camp.
From what I hear, every player in camp is a future superstar who overly impresses the coaches. This just can't be. I want to hear about the screw ups and I want to hear about players being chewed out for missing assignments, jumping offsides, and not focusing. I want to hear about players being beaten. How can we have two players butting heads with one another and both players coming out smelling like a rose? Someone has to be a dog. After last years second half bust, when what I was hearing was not what I was seeing, I am alot more cautious about the words coming from camp. |

First of all, I\'ve heard several negitive things about camp. I\'ve heard of receivers dropping balls, missed assignments in the secondary, etc.. Just depends where your getting your information at. Secondly, part of an organizations job is to hype a team, no matter how bad they might be. Ticket sales wouldn\'t be very high if the coaches played more to the negitive aspects of the upcoming season. To an extent, coaches are sales people for an orginization.
With all that being said, the last thing I want to hear is that players are screwing up in camp. While you have to take a lot of news coming out of camp with a grain of salt, I beleive that since Haslett has \"his guys\', that he will have more respect with the players, and they will focus harder, expecially with the leadership we now have. Want to know who screws up this time of year? The best thing to do is to watch who gets cut. Like for instance........

Wide outs dropping balls (including Horn). #1 QB underthrowing guys. #2 QB overthrowing them. Mixups everwhere. I\'ve heard all this stuff in the last week. BC is absolutely correct...the organization is gonna be as positive as possible. \"We Suck\" doesn\'t equate to ticket sales. See \"JOESAM2002\" above for more details!
