Payton is a one hit wonder

He is done...He's worse than mike martz and sadly that says a lot. I don't care about last year it was a fluke. He will never be more than a Mike Martz. He needs a head coach to control him. He is not and never will be a legitimate head coach in the NFL just like Martz.

I do agree that he's a cheap man's Mike Martz. He's fantastically talented, but he gets way too carried away.

At least Martz has a Superbowl to his credit. Unlike us. Hell, if Martz were to take over for us, and get us there JUST ONE TIME.... I'd kiss his ass, and call him "darling" in the morning.

Well I know you are upset but I am not ready to give up on Payton yet. You have to allow him to learn some lessons and we need to stick with him and give him the benefit of the doubt for now. The true test is going to come this off season to see what adjustments we will make.

Last year a fluke sure but its a fluke not only for our coach but everyone who puts on the uniform.

Martz has a superbowl loss to his credit as a head coach remember the patriots.
Only won as as oc under vermeil.

I stand by my statement "one hit wonder" but hey...prove me wrong I hope I'm completely off base here, but I seldom am.

The call was either goat or hero and unfortunately it turned up goat. Bad call, probably bad execution defintely. You hand the ball off you do not pitch it. Payton took full responsibility and I got to give him credit for that. Remember he is only in his second year after taking over of a 3-13 team.

Re: Payton is a one hit wonder

there's no way we should give up on him now. i believe that sean is a smart enough man to learn from his mistakes...however if he pulls the same crap next year and does NOT learn, then we as well as the front office should raise our eyebrows and think of our options :\ i think he'll get it together though...i hope so...i mean FFS the guy is only 43 almost 44...i mena he could still be in the league (re: testaverde hahaha) but really...no reason to lynch him yet.
