Consistently Inconsistent

Well, Well, Well. My 9-7 or 8-8 aren't even looking so good right now.

Why we lost.

1. Tampa is better

2. Our line played horrible, Faine actually played on of the better games i have seen him play(which isn't saying much) but our Tackles consistently got bull rushed or in the case of Strief beat with pure speed. Nesbit was OK.

3. Because of 2, Drew did not play well.

4. Our defense cannot do anything. Our line was trying to get into the backfield so quickly because of the lack of blitzing that they could never contain McCown.

5. Other than the INT, we made McCown look like a guy with Vick's legs, Marino/Elway's arm, and Montana's brain.

6. Mike McKenzie cannot cover the whole secondary, and Fujita cannot be cloned to play all three LB spots.

If I see us draft an offensive player other than a lineman in the draft I may pull all my hair out.

Re: Consistently Inconsistent

I have to agree with you on all your points!!!

The one thing I consistantly notice is that at times we can stop the run but when an OL wants to do something against our line they can bully and push them around... even HT and BY. Its really ugly to see our DL being pushed by someones hands. They aren't rushing the QB they will continute to be knocked around.

Well I think that Smith and Grant could both be good ends in a 3-4. Grant obviously better, however fujita is the only LB we could keep other than Simmons. Our Secondary is horrible with the exception of McKenzie, Harper will get better and could be very good.

We need a whole lot of LB's and secondary and a good ole fashioned Vince Wilfork type of NT and switch to a 3-4, shoot we can't do any worse as a 3-4 than we have done as a 4-3.

Re: Consistently Inconsistent

i gotta tell ya, I think Hollis Thomas ahs done a good job since he got serious about this weight. If Young hadn't gotten hurt Lord knows what he might have done. remember this was his first game back from the knee operation. I've had 4 and none of them are easy. As far as playing the game i'm most disappointed in Charles Grant, he's just not getting any kind of rush. Maybe it's just me expecting to much from him. Hey, it's only money, right?

I can't put this one on Brees, his game wasn't great but he gave his team a chance in winning this game, it was all Galloway in the first half, ball game.
