Odd things about the Falcon's Game

Payton challenging a meaningless Joe Horn reception in the 3rd quarter with the score 31-7. Best air-time Joe got all season. Worth the pay cut.

Will Smith was everywhere from the 1st ATL snap to his last play. 8 tackles, a hit and a sack and a forced fumble.

Charles Grant wasn't. Again. 1 tackle, no sacks, hurries, or hits or anything that might show up statistically. 37 tackles for the season, or 3 a game.

Hollis Thomas would be All-Pro carrying 15 fewer pounds. A beast last night, he's finally plugging the middle.

Harper looked like he was accused of pederasty when that ball fell into his hands.

Special teams suckola. Unless Mare (anyone know his status after that knee to the noggin?) kicks it into the endzone, our opponent starts outside the 35. It's like watching kids get off the short bus, running in random directions with their arms waving, drooling and wearing their safety helmets.

Every field goal and extra point has my rapt attention in dread mode.

Saints' receivers can't stand prosperity. They can catch nearly any ball in bad traffic or awkward position, but can't catch the creampuff.

Usama Young's not ready. Nice takedown. Maybe a solid offseason will get him a few in-season reps.

The O-line needed 20 minutes to figure out how to run forward while blocking.

Trying to figure out how to work a non-traditional player into the Saints offense has been holding the rest of the team back.

And, Harper looked like he was being accused of pederasty when that ball fell into his hands. Do the DC's let the secondary actually work with a real NFL ball in practice or do they use their imaginations as to what one might look like. Based on Harper and David's performances this season, probably not.

.....or the most common of all, mostly everytime the Saints makes a huge play on offense, out of the blue, somebody is either called for holding or someone sneezes (offsides) at the line of scrimmage.

But, anyway,

SAINTS WIN!! SAINTS WIN!!!

Re: Odd things about the Falcon's Game

I thought that Harper played well last night. Actually, everybody on the defense (except Jason David of course) played well. We got great pressure all night long, our linebackers didn't let Alge do anything, and for the most part our secondary looked solid. I mean, yes, it was the Falcons, but the D looked good.

Re: Odd things about the Falcon's Game

The only negative about the defense was they still gave up 298 to a journeyman QB. It's a start though, but overall the Saints D did look very good. I especially love the way the D clamped down on a very good running game.

Ok, I looked it up. That's yucky. That's why the quote "It's all Greek to me" was made. They did some kinky, messed up stuff back in the day.

Pederasty; It's all Greek to me. And it will stay Greek to me.
