I didn't like it very much. And, I wasn't silenced. He ticked me off quite often throughout the game. He just got lucky they were playing Atlanta. If he pulled some of that same stuff against the Bucs, they would have killed us this week. The game wouldn't have been as close as last week.

I think Payton is fantastic and I don't want another coach, but.... he's gotta settle down.

I think you live and die by Payton's scheme. You're not gonna win all your games, but you will put fear in the defense every game. Opposing D's have to prepare for everything.... The only time he needs to settle down is late in the fourth quarter when we have the lead on our own 30 yard line (tampa).

i have to agree with Morgus(who ever that is). I don't want to see him change. But at the end of a game with a slim lead you have to be more cautious. Do whatever it takes to win.

It's all about Sean Payton knowing how to use his weapons, and when to use them. With that said, I want to talk about Devery Henderson for a minute. Devery has actually redeemed himself lately because of the way he is now being used. Devery is a play maker, a guy you go to on 3rd and 15, type of guy. Throw a bomb, or engage a gadget and he has a chance at doing something great. What Devery isn't is a possession type of guy. You know, the type of guy who fills the number 1 or 2 WR roll in today's offense. Throw him a ball in traffic about 8 yards out, and he will probably drop it. Throw a deep bomb to him with defenders draped on him and he will probably make the catch. The biggest mistake was playing him out of his role early in the season. Since he has been placed back into his role, he has done very well. Henderson reminds me a lot of Alvin Harper when he was with the Cowboys. Harper was the deep threat, and that was it. When Harper decided in his own eyes he was better than that, his career came to an end. The Saints should give Henderson a new contract, and Henderson should accept being the big play down the field guy, a number 3 type of receiver, and not try to score a "bigger job" like Harper did. If Henderson does this, he will stick around the NFL for a very long time. Hopefully, he will be wearing the Saints uniform for the rest of his career.

Never mind, I am a dork. I now see that this article was written by Jim Henderson, and only had small reference to Devery. Maybe the Henderson:Payton silences critics, should have been a dead giveaway. You know, the ":" part... However, I still stand by my opinion concerning Devery...
