Don Bank's All-Bust Team
SI.com - Writers - Don Banks: NFL's 2007 All-Bust Team - Wednesday December 12, 2007 2:29PM
There's more than a few familiar names in there. Sad thing is that I agree with all of them. However I still plan on having a playoff party. |

Re: Don Bank's All-Bust Team
If he's talking about just this year then I might agree with some of them. But really i think you can come up with good arguments as to why some of these guys have disappointed this year.

Re: Don Bank's All-Bust Team
I disagree with Charle Grant... He is doing exactly the same job as last year...
He doesn't get a lot of tackles b/c teams run away from him... He's best against the run and solid in pass rush. |

Re: Don Bank's All-Bust Team
That was almost funny. A lot of the players selected were silly. He avoided team issues and changes of system way to much. I am sure a lot of fans from all over the NFL are shaking there heads and know he made picks that he could not back up if he told the whole story of that players teams issues. Injury jumped out at me for one. Role of players on new teams. Weak negative reporting.

Wow, Nate Clements must be terrible if he beat out Jason David.

I think maybe someone with connections should e-mail the article to the players listed, then maybe they'll step-up and play to the level they are capable of. This team doesn't need us defended them, they need to defend themselves by increasing their intensity, consistency, and level of play on the field. Excuses are for loses, winners don't need them. |

Re: Don Bank's All-Bust Team
Actually, Banks is dead on.
You guys probably don't know this, but usually, the writer of the article doesn't choose the title that gets printed on the newspaper (or magazine, or e-zine). That falls on the editor. If you read the article, Don Banks states this is his "All-Dissapointment" team, and never uses the word "bust". That was the editor who decided to title the article "All-Bust-Team". The players that Banks lists have indeed had highly dissapointing seasons as compared to the expectations everyone had from these players and their play in the past. So, if you take the Nate Clemens/Jason David comparison, Jason David is horrible, sure, but Nate Clemens went to SF with the label of "shut-down" corner. David just cashed in on the Colts winning the SB and the play of Bob Sanders/Dwight Freeney. |
