After being gifted a starting position - courtesy of former starter Jeff Blake's 2000 injury - there were moments when that seemed appropriate. He was at the helm, after all, when the Saints won their second division title ever, then their first playoff game. He engineered wins over tough playoff-bound teams early last year.
