ESPN is looking to create news where this is none. Ask yourself if you would rather have Duece and Bush on your team or Stecker and Pierre Thomas. |

I believe that Stecker showed over the last two games that he is up to the challenge. The second TD run where he lowered his shoulder gave and received a big hit and still made it into the End Zone was great. Reggie tries that and he is sitting on his butt. Of course we know Deuce would have run over the poor guy, but hey Stecker is stepping up and playing great. |

Re: ESPN's NFL Live totally ticked me off with Reggie Bush bashing
I understand what people are getting at with these questions. I thought that Payton was force-feeding Reggie the ball. With him out, it gives the opposing D's less to key on. Stecker is running well, but I doubt the Cards or the Falcons gameplanned for him. They focused on stopping Brees and Colston.
Well...when Stecker starts running for 4-5 yards per carry D's have to adjust in-game. Now they have to respect the run and the play action is more effective. Plus, D's don't have Reggie to key on when he's split out wide. Before it was "stop Bush and Colston, Stop the Saints". Now it's "who's going to get the ball?" Devery, Copper, Moore, Patten, Steck are all getting a share of reggies 20+ touches per game. You're not seeing reggie-centric plays anymore and Brees is allowed to do what he does best: Read and React. Hopefully this has been a learning experience for Reggie and Payton. So when we make the playoffs and Reggie's ready to go, the team and #25 will be better for it. |

Also would like to say our run blocking has been getting better every week. It started showing the game before Bush was hurt. Stecker is reaping the rewards.
