Re: this could develope into a problem.......
Regardless of who you give credit to, there's a pretty good team playing down in Dallas that didn't make a ton of moves this offseason.

True, but, if you listen to the players, things are a *lot* different now that Bill is gone. The perception is he held them back. As Bill himself would say, the team is what it is now and it was what it was then.

Parcells close to taking new position with Dirty Birds
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3160597
I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand I feel that the game has passed Bill by. But on the other hand I look at the talent he assembled in Dallas and it appears he still has an eye for free agent pickups and the draft. The one thing I know for sure is that this is no quick turnaround job. And Parcells has not exactly been long timer at any job he has ever had. Atlanta is in complete disarray and I think the Vick thing set them back at least 3 years from even considering the playoffs. |

Parcells will get them going in the right direction. He's well respected and has worked with a ton of coaches in the league. He'll get a good coach in there and make some good personell moves and they'll be heading towards the playoffs in 3-4 years.

Well the beauty with coaching is that age doesn’t play as big of a factor as it does with playing in most cases it helps because of the years of experience
and give the fact that he is not looking at a coaching job rather a managing position I think he will do well |

Where experience does help a coach, age does not. You can coach loosing teams your whole career and still be a bad coach.

Re: Parcells to Falcons (merged)
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports Falcons owner Arthur Blank is currently in New York to finalize a deal with Bill Parcells.
Parcells is expected to be named executive VP of the Falcons and have full control over football operations. There is speculation that Parcells will pursue Patriots GM Scott Pioli, who is the tuna's son in law, and possibly along with him offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to be Atlanta's next head coach.
