Re: do you really want this guy?
"I've got to do what I've got to do. No matter who hates me ... I don't know. He be a great upgrade, Beside do you think he a Coach Payton type of player. Our moles who were in the Georgia Dome on Monday night tell us that, at one point during the game between New Orleans and Atlanta, Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall was overheard telling Saints coach Sean Payton, "I'll play for you for the minimum," or words to that effect. Hall was fined $100,000 for his conduct in a game earlier this year against the Panthers, and the general feeling in the wake of the incident has been that Hall won't be back in 2008. Prior to that, Hall made clear his desire to test the open market once his rookie contract expires. It's unlikely that Hall would actually play for the Saints, or anyone, for the minimum player contract with four years of experience. Still, the broader point is that Hall clearly wants out of Atlanta. He'll likely get his wish. |

I see no problem with DHall coming to the Saints he be a great improvement over what we have now and at some point we have separate the Payton type of player for competitor out there that will actually help us win ball games. For the type of defense we play he'll be much more of an improvement than Freddie Thomas and his clone Jason David (who should be CUT the hell with his contract)

Hell no. He's one of the dirties players in the NFL, and he is a distraction on the field. The guy is an @$$hole and I want no part of him. He might be good, but I have to be able to like a guy for me to root for him.

You call it fire, I call it dirty. I think there are other ways to address the position without selling our soul.

Sometimes the off-field activities are a good indicator of how a player will perform on the field (moment of silence for Maurice Clarett's career), but most times you end up passing on a good player with will go on to the Superbowl with or without you (Randy Moss hasn't yet, but let's face it, that inevitable this year). |

Re: do you really want this guy?
I think Hall just had a frustrating season. Yes, he is a bona fide A-Hole, but yes, he is a great player. I don't think Atlanta will let him go anytime soon, and with a year left on his contract the Falcons will never trade him within the division. Matter of fact I can see the Falcons putting the franchise tag on him once his contract does expire. Anyway, he never hit it off with his coach, and should be alright once their new coach is introduced. I think Blank is smart enough to bring in a "players coach" type of guy.
