Re: McKenzie and Branch both on IR
so we're likely without mckenzie for at least part of next year too?? now we might not have any other choice than to look towards DHall, love him or hate him.

Anwar Phillips was a very good college cornerback from Penn State. He was on the practice squad for a while, after signing as an UDFA. I'm not really sure where he is now.

Re: McKenzie and Branch both on IR
I say we convert some wide receivers to DB. They can't be much worse that the ones we got. Plus, if a wild pass comes right to them (which is gonna happen at least 2 or 3 times with the Bears), I want a guy back there who will actually catch it. Forget the dropped passes on offense, I cringe every time we drop a should-be interception. Because 9 times out of 10, the team ends up marching right down the field after that. Our defense is good like 2 or 3 plays per possession. So if those 3 aren't in a row, in one of them has to be a turnover.

Re: McKenzie and Branch both on IR
Well, if the Saints manage to back into the playoffs, Seattle is going to have a field day against the Saints defense. No way that the Saints make it out of the first round. I really don't think everything will play out for them to back in, but just stating a what if type of deal.
This off-season, the Saints may face having to now replace two starting CB's, a safety, two linebackers, a defense tackle, a RB, center, and then build depth at those positions. There is simply not enough draft or free agency to get it all done. Loomis is going to be one busy guy this off-season. |
