Saints | Payton says Meachem will be 'in the mix' next season

Tom Planchet, of WWLTV.com, reports New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said WR Robert Meachem, who did not see any playing time this season, will be 'in the mix' at receiver next season. Meachem was the team's first round pick in the 2007 draft and the head coach said the young receiver has been impressing the coaching staff with his scout team performances in the past few weeks.

Did we expect Payton to say anything different? In the mix? I guess this means he will be competing with the rest of the WR for a spot on the roster. And his point is?

Coach needs to just get this guy on the field and stop talking about it. The longer he sits makes us all wonder what in the hell was really wrong with this kid.
